Meet the Partners
Two heads are better than one
Derek Blair
Derek is one of the two founding partners of Pinkham Blair, setting up
the firm with David Pinkham in 2004. Previously, David and Derek had
worked together at the AIM-listed accountancy firm Vantis plc and its
predecessor, Morgan Brown & Spofforth, for nine years. Derek joined
the accountancy profession having graduated in Accountancy Finance &
Economics from Essex University.
Derek has a general practice background, qualifying with a 2 partner
North London firm, Charles Rippin & Turner, in 1994.
However, Derek’s professional specialism is corporate finance, having
managed and led business acquisition and disposal assignments for
clients as Joint Managing Director of Morgan Corporate Finance and
more recently as Transaction Services Director of Vantis Corporate
Finance Limited. Whether you are looking to acquire, expand or sell
your business, or if you just want good, sound advice on how to grow
your business, he is the person to speak to before you take the next
step.
Originally from Chester, Derek and his family now live in Cockfosters,
a few hundred yards away from the border with Hertfordshire. Personal
interests include following Manchester United and local rugby side
Saracens, and reading about and researching modern and ancient
history.
David Pinkham
David founded Pinkham Blair with Derek Blair in 2004, having
previously worked together at the AIM-listed accountancy firm Vantis
plc and its predecessor, Morgan Brown & Spofforth. A graduate of
Warwick University with a degree in Economics,
David qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1991.
David led a general practice Client Service Group within Vantis,
comprising 25 professional staff, and, like Derek, was a member of
Vantis’s London Operating Board.
David specialises in advising owner-managed businesses on the daily
challenges they face. This is delivered through face to face meetings
and free telephone support to tackle business issues as they arise. He
is an expert in the fields of company accounts and audit, particularly
in the financial services and property sectors.
Whilst residing in Pinner in West London, David’s roots lie
in Bristol where his passion for sport led him to live within walking
distance of the local rugby, cricket and football grounds. On moving
to London, David became a Highbury regular. Travel plays an important
part of family life with the most recent holiday comprising a grand
driving tour through France, Switzerland, Italy, Austria and Germany.
